About Dying Oath
Dying Oath may be new to the scene, but it has been in the works for quite some time...
Dying Oath is a melodic metalcore band based out of Rural Retreat, Virginia. Dying Oath has proven that although the area is dominated by Country and Bluegrass, that Metalcores
crunchy rhythms and sweeping melodic leads accompanied by a combination of delicate clean and hardcore vocals, can indeed succeed to some extent.
Fierce and energetic, they look to harden their footprint in the surrounding metal scene.
Originally formed in 2018, drummer, Ryan Endicott, and lead guitarist, Josh Hagee, started writing music together. Their chemistry mixed very well, with each other being able to
communicate and make songs in typical musician fashion. Through several auditions and searching, they came across Jacob Richmond, who played the drums, and at that point, Ryan decided
to move to guitar. With that, they then decided on Jeb Baxley for clean vocals and not long after, they moved in on their second vocalist for screams, Mindy Jackson. After looking for a bassist, Jacob and Mindy brought in Ryan Matney, who had played in a band with them years before.
Even though the band is newer with a full line-up, they are excited to showcase their talents and stories in their upcoming debut album that is set to release mid to late 2020.
In an effort to showcase some of the material that the band had been working on meticulously for the past several months, Lead Guitarist Josh Hagee decided to pick up the gear necessary
to make rough recordings of their tracks and jump on a local event happening in Rural Retreat. Although the tracks were much less that studio quality, the fans of the local scene
really connected with what they heard. This combined with a performance at "Rock Retreat III" hosted by DMP Presents and organized by Adam Seelbach (Inferior Design), launched
the band into a status they never expected.
Dying Oath continues to push the envelope of the local metal community with the support of many other local acts and endorsements from Maverick, Hellfire Radio, Alloy X and Alloy Radio, Dirtbag Clothing, an Artist Development program with Will Baker of Eye to Eye Records and Hollow Intent, and an unheard of partnership with a Haunt Scene podcast known as Haunted Honeymooners.
The band also made an agreement with Injected Smile Studios to remix and master their current tracks to add a clean studio performance to their music, hopefully pushing them to even greater heights. The date for the album is still undetermined but 2 Singles, "Modern Testament" and "Insomniac", have successfully been released and available on most major streaming services.

A Sound Of Thunder (ASOT) Traditional metal band, formed 2009, located in Washington DC.
A Sound Of Thunder combines traditional metal, power metal, prog and classic heavy rock to create timeless metal anthems.
A SOUND OF THUNDER is an American traditional heavy metal band with progressive, power metal, and classic rock influences, and powerful female vocals.
A SOUND OF THUNDER delivers timeless metal and hard rock with a focus on melody and musicianship, and a unique personality that sets them apart from the pack.
A SOUND OF THUNDER is 100% independent and 100% funded by the best fans in the world...the LEGION OF THUNDER!
Josh Schwartz - Guitar | Nina Osegueda - Vocals (ex-Master Sword) | Jesse Keen - Bass, Keyboard | Chris Haren - Drums
A Sound of Thunder delivers an exciting blend of classic heavy metal, progressive, and rock. Ignoring trends, ASOT focus on quality song-writing with memorable melodies and riffs.. With first class musicianship all around, the band's not-so-secret weapon is vocalist Nina Osegueda. Standing only 5' 2", the diminutive singer packs the vocal wallop of someone twice her size.
ASOT Press Reviews
Johnny Price - Bare Bones Music "A Sound of Thunder's Out of the Darkness is premium, kick ass, classic heavy metal..." "Look out boys, the next great metal singer is here."
Craig Hartranft - Danger Dog Music Reviews “A Sound Of Thunder is not just some typical female-fronted metal band, as proven by their second album Out Of The Darkness. With a singer who is not just all looks, and a sound that has the best parts of heavy metal, Out Of The Darkness is a galvanizing effort.”
Blabbermouth.net “This is just straight up, in your face, pounding metal, with classic metal riffs and the strong (to say the least) classic metal vocal style of Nina Osegueda.”
Tony Cannella - Femme Metal Webzine “They slide easily between thrash and prog, keeping the songs constantly driving forward along with Schwartz and his evil solos. I highly recommend checking out this album and seeing this band live. ”
Johnnie Vrana - Shockwave Magazine “Nina Osegueda with her long brown hair takes on all the attention for the evening, running sideways along the stage, jumping energetically and just rocking out on stage. The crowd reacts positively, jumping up and down on some songs, dancing and screaming their support. In fact, the crowd was so enthusiastic that I was deaf the whole next day. ”
Rams Head Live! hosts metal group A Sound of Thunder - The Retriever Weekly “A.S.O.T. has a very classic metal sound in the vein of Iron Maiden. Except this time it is fronted by a woman Nina Osegueda, who exudes sexiness with her curves and bright red corset. It was like a beacon on stage.”
Jill Hughes Kirtland - USA Prog Music“[From EP Review] Overall, this is an excellent first effort by this group. I really do enjoy Nina's strong and powerful vocals on here. Josh is awesome on the guitars, plus Chris delivers a solid backing on the drums. These guys deliver a fairly unique take on the power metal genre that I do find somewhat refreshing. It is almost like they combine the old-school Judas Priest/Black Sabbath sound and mix in a bit of the more modern HammerFall or Helloween sound, and then front the whole thing with a female. In the end I actually really enjoyed what I heard here and am actually looking forward to getting to see these guys play a live gig up at Jaxx. I would recommend checking these guys out. Four out of Five Devil Horns (m/m/m/m/). ”
