Band Members:
Chris Clark- guitar/vocals | Gary Jordan-Guitar/vocals | David Elmore-bass | Jeff “Morty” Mortimer- drums/vocals As previously reported, BABYLON SHAKES recently added a 4th member in bassist David Elmore. Babylon Shakes Announces New Lineup Bassist Gary Jordan moves over to guitar making room for new bassist and now 4th member David Elmore. Hailing from Virginia, Dave compliments the band perfectly bringing a wealth of musical skill, knowledge and talent to the band. Dave played in the popular Virginia band 'TILT', hails Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton, and is influenced by Aerosmith, Hanoi Rocks, and The Black Crowes. Gary, an amazing guitar player, has always played bass in bands because, "they needed a bass player". Gary can now show off his guitar playing adding another dynamic to the band. The move comes at a perfect time as the band is preparing to release their first full-length record 'Exile to The Velveteen Lounge' nationally through HighVolMusic on February 1, 2019. "I've been handling all the guitar duties as well as singing since we started the band. Adding Dave and moving Gary to guitar, which Gary always wanted to do, now frees me up to what I do and cover more ground as a band. The foundation of the band is more solid than ever and Dave is just a perfect fit. That almost never happens!" says guitarist/vocalist Chris Clark. Since its formation in September 2017, BABYLON SHAKES has been on the fast track writing and recording, playing prominent events such as 'Holiday Six Pack w/ Tora Tora', 'HighVolSummer Bash' with 'Every Mother's Nightmare' and 'Billy Morris', and 'The Main Event with Silvertung' along with many shows of their own, and building a mass fan base. BABYLON SHAKES was signed to HighVolMusic after their first show ever. Exile to the Velveteen Lounge

Exile To The Velveteen Lounge Review
Babylon Shakes "Exile To The Velveteen Lounge" is a roller coaster ride into the sleaze scene of the early 80's metal sleaze bands. For everyone who loves Faster Pussycat, Kix, The Sea Hags, Poison, LA Guns and other old school sleaze metal bands. The opening song “Making A Million” kicks off the album with the bands vintage sound and lyric-ed about how to make it in the record industry. "Sunset Striptease" heats up the flow with guitar riffs and vocals complemented by cowbells and old school riffs like an old Pussycat song. "Sin Parade" one of our fav's brings back that old LA Guns sound that we all feel in love with back in the day. Sin Parade will rock the house with short guitar blast, overdrive vocals, cowbells, and great band backing vocals. "No Pictures Please" is another great track that brings the Faster Pussycat sounding anthems, with really great vocals implemented into the track. We love the jam, the song is a lot of fun and just has that 80's sound and feel that makes you wanna dance! "Velveteen Libertine" kicks off with that old gritty sound from back in the day then takes off crisp and clean with strong vocals and lyrics throughout. "Silver Tongue Devil" is a blast from start to finish with sleazy lyric's and fast paced song progression. "Hard Times" fly's off the 80's old school vinyl with a great vintage feel and sound sure to get everyone on the dance floor. "Die Pretty" is sleazy and gritty reminiscent of old 80's punk anthem, a real fun listen. "Star In Your Eyes" is another fav showing Babylon Shakes lighter side pushing towards a "sleazy" ballad, the song is beautiful and really grabs at your heartstrings. "Motel Lights" wraps up the album with another great jam incorporating old school Poison sounding riffs, catchy lyrics, strong bass, steady guitar, and pounding drumming with a nice bit of solo to wrap up the album. We really enjoyed the album and have not heard anything like this since the rockin' 80's. We most def would recommend this album for one hell of a good time, it's dance-able, rock-able, and is a real blast to the past! It's very exciting to have Babylon Shakes here to bring us back to that old school rock N roll sound!
