Once upon a time, way back in the 80s, 5 Boston musicians formed a band called Sweet Cheater. They became very popular in the late 80s and played to packed houses at clubs they booked. During this time of hair band debauchery the Boston boys were getting a lot of interest from national and local magazines.
Despite their promising start the guys didn’t get signed or release an album in that era. Instead they went their separate ways back in 1990. Fans were left with sweet memories but no hope of further music from the band. Then in the early 2000s the guys got together and began making music again. They released their debut album nearly 25 years after the band first got together. Perris Records introduced Sweet Cheater “Eatin’ Ain’t Cheatin’” in 2006. The release didn’t get a lot of fanfare but the tracks definitely stand the test of time, and their music has been featured in movie and television soundtracks.
Today, the band that brought you ‘Rock Steady’ & ‘Hit the Lights’ can still rock you right out of your seat! Awesome guitar riffs, killer vocals...they’ve got it all! They have a really catchy, melodic sound which fit perfectly into the 80’s glam metal scene. Which is still alive and well thanks to all the old bands that have reunited or continued to make music throughout the years as well as the nu-generation metal bands who share the music we love with a whole new generation of metal fans.
