Over the past few weeks social media has seen some comments and photos that seemed to be hinting at new music from at least a few members of Motley Crue. Fans were shown Nikki and Tommy together in the studio a few weeks ago. Yesterday, Vince Neil confirmed the suspicions and announced that the full and original lineup of the Crue is recording new songs together!!! He also addressed the "contract" that many people were concerned about saying that they signed a contract not to tour, no one ever said they were breaking up or would no longer make music. Hallelujah!!!!!!!

Snakebite started up in 2012 under the name named Sexx Action, however, they were disappointed by the divergence occurring throughout the band.
After regrouping, their first try at putting something together under the new name Snakebite proved to be very difficult due to issues with an ex bandmate. Not letting that discourage them, the 3 founding members, Wagner, Fischer and LaCroix forged ahead and kept the ball rolling without worry. In early 2013, they released a demo via Maniac Attack Records in limited numbers which was quickly sold out. Fast forward to 2014 when the 3 original members started working on their first album, “Princess of Pain”. Each of them contributed to the song writing which offered a wide variety of songs and sounds. This album was recorded and mixed by Lacuna Coil’s Dennis Koehne and was released in 2015. In 2016, they added new member Chris Van Kough (guitar). Since then, they have been touring abroad and all over Germany. On May 4, 2018, their upcoming album, “Rise of the Snake” will be released as a cd and as a vinyl album via Maniac Attack Records. The lineup of : Dominik Wagner (vocals/guitar), Julian Fischer (drums), Alex LaCroix (bass), andChris Van Kough (guitar) seems to be the winning pairing. These guys have a great sound and they rock hard! ![]()
Jocke Berg (vocals), Vic Zino (guitar), Martin Sandvik (bass) and Adde Andreasson (drums) make up this foursome from Gothenburg, Sweden. Their sound has been coined as thrash metal and sleaze rock. Drummer Andreasson uses the term “street metal” to describe them. They formed in 1997 and still perform today. They have 11 albums under their belt, one just being released in 2018 called “You Can’t Kill Rock n’ Roll”. These bad boys have an impressive 18 singles and have won several Grammys in Sweden. They have one compilation album with all of their hits.
Their influence came from the 80’s, L.A. rock scene which included bands such as L.A. Guns and Faster Pussycat. They also got into Oasis as heard on their song “Someone Special.” Drummer Addes said they wanted to be a lot like AC/DC because they were the “ultimate party band” because they ran on pure energy. Years later, they were invited to open for AC/DC in Turin, Italy to which they were very honored. They have toured all over Europe, Japan and the US. ![]() Judas Priest frontman, Rob Halford says there are no plans for them to retire after guitarist Glenn Tipton said he was coming off of the road due to his many years battle with Parkinson’s disease. “We know what Glenn has been up against, and he has showed absolute proof that there is no such thing as retirement in the Priest plan” Halford told Maximum Ink. Despite losing Tipton from the road, things will still progress forward. Halford stated that they feel like there is always another song to sing or another show to play. The band has a new album, ‘Firepower’ that was released on March 9, and the tour promoting it. They still get offers from all over the world to play international venues. Why ruin a good thing? As long as they have the desire and the want to keep Priest fans happy, I say rock on!! JP is STILL badass and relevant!! ![]()
Congrats to the guys in Permacrush on their new release today. We were intrigued by a Facebook post and reached out to Chris Crush to find out more about this "Sunset Strip" band and their music. We've already discovered that I get a bit flustered when talking to artists so thankfully Chris had a busy schedule and we came up with doing an email interview instead of me attempting to stick to a scripted list of questions. This is actually a win for me, because no matter how prepared I am I always forget to ask one question or another. This gave me a chance to sit down and send a series of questions and allow Chris time to look over them and give me the answers he wanted to without me interrupting him or heading off in another direction! So, y'all enjoy, and add Permacrush to your playlist now!!!
Q. Permacrush- how long have you guys been together and what are the members names and instruments? A. I ran Permacrush out of the Midwest from 2005-2012. I moved to San Diego in 2012. Tried to run it from the beach in SD but Hollywood pulled me in. Moved to West Hollywood in Dec. 2017. PERMACRUSH is: Chris Crush - Lead Vocals, Guitars - Brett Baugh - Lead guitar - Harley Duggan - Bass, Vocals - Alex Tuccio - Drums, Vocals. Q. One of the things that most interested me about your band is the Sunset Strip aspect. Who are your influences and how did you start playing the Strip? On that same note do you think the Sunset Strip scene has changed since the days of the previous generation of hair bands like Motley Crue, London, etc. A. I have always loved the 80's Rock and Metal music. I was just about 10 years too young, to get in on that scene and by the time I had joined serious bands that genre was dead. So When I decided to start my own band, Permacrush and give it one last shot, I knew what kind of band it would be. Arena Rock. Big Guitars. Big Drums. I love Guns N Roses, Motley Crue, Van Halen, Ratt, Poison, I could go on... ;) I started playing the Whisky when I moved to CA in 2012. It was always a goal of mine. I never wanted it to be a bucket list thing. I wanted to do it multiple times. Live it... I was driving up from San Diego to do shows. Now we have played there a dozen times opening for bands like Quiet Riot, Stephen Pearcy, Faster Pussycat, Don Dokken, Rough Cutt, Pretty Boy Floyd, Jack Russell's Great White, Bulletboys and more... so it was time to move closer and not have as far to drive home... It has definitely changed but the spirit and the history is still there. You can still feel it on a sold out night at The Whisky. There is magic in that place and I love tapping into it. It will never be the same but bands are still getting it done and will always kick ass on Sunset. Q. Tell me about Honey... what can we expect from this new tune and what is the inspiration behind it? A. Ha! This one is about an ex - and instead of posting my relationship problems on facebook, I write songs. So the chorus is "This song will tell them how you done me, (Honey) Let them know just how you wronged me, (Honey) Situation's getting sticky, (Honey) Feeling broke but I'm so money"... The song was recorded at Dave Grohl's Studio 606, Northridge, CA. Written by Chris Crush. Produced by Matt Starr(Mr. Big, Ace Frehley), Drums and Bass: Matt Starr - Vocals, Guitars, Bass: Chris Crush. I try to make light of a really bad situation. The songs help me cope. Instant therapy. Moving on. Q. Where and how can fans find and listen to your music? A. We are on most of the major music retailers and you can always find us at www.permacrush.com and Youtube. Q. Future plans? tours? taking over the music world?? A. We are currently doing some more shows in Los Angeles, playing some new venues, The Canyon clubs. Really nice. We will be doig some ticket deals for those events soon. Working on a tour and we are close to securing a sponsorship to help promote the band and the new single, Honey. Q. Anything specific you want our listeners/site visitors to know... A. Find us on Social Media, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Subscribe to our channel on Youtube. Thanks for checking out Permacrush! http://youtube.com/permacrush http://instagram.com/permacrush http://twitter.com/permacrush http://facebook.com/permacrushed ![]()
These rockers hail from Buenos Aires, Argentina, where you will find, Marcus Prevalil (keyboards), Oscar “Pyper” Muguertegui (vocals), Samual Carabajel (bass), Rodrigo Bugallo (guitar) & German Calero (drums) rocking out songs that have notable 80’s influences.
In the beginning, under their original name, Gunner Sixx they were doing mainly cover songs from bands such as, Motley Crue, Poison, Bon Jovi, Europe and Skid Row. Muguertegui’s voice lends a Dio/Rob Halford sound with plenty of grit and power. In their song “Rockin’ in the City”, you can most definitely tell. (**note, nobody could ever perfectly capture Dio’s or Halford’s voice!) In 2016, they dropped their 3rd studio album, “All Access” (previous albums; “Keep Fighting” & “Desire). Then, in 2017, they toured all over Asia promoting the album finding an extensive fan base in Japan. We will definitely be keeping and eye on these guys...they have that nostalgic 80’s vibe that we all know and love. Check them out on youtube & keep rockin’!
When you visit the Babylon Shakes website you will find this description:
"Lead vocalist and guitarist Chris Clark is no stranger to sleaze rock. As the songwriter and frontman for bands like Smashed Alley and Last Call Messiahs, he delivers catchy, dirty rock n roll songs with a distinct Hollywood rasp. Babylon Shakes rhythm section includes veteran musicians Gary Jordan and “Morty” Jeff Mortimer. Each with over 30 years of experience touring, recording, and performing live. Make no mistake despite the extensive experience, they haven’t slowed down one bit since they began playing music at an early age. They each still play with a chip on their shoulder with much still to prove, feeling energetic and ready to Rock! These two have rocked the stage together countless times with bands such as Kage, Bought by Blood, and most recently Last Night’s Villain. Their dedication to their musicianship and stage show is as entertaining as it is musically euphoric to the audience." ![]()
So, now you know who Babylon Shakes is. What you don’t know is that they are funny and nice and this music is something that is coming from deep in their souls. Having spent so many years in different bands having these guys come together at this stage in their lives, when there is a whole new generation of “new blood” in the hair metal scene, is bound to shake things up a bit. As a fan of hair bands, sleaze metal and all the amazing bands that rocked my youth I am thrilled to find that the music I loved is still going strong.
I gotta tell you I had planned to do a podcast of the interview I did with Chris, Gary and Morty. I dutifully recorded our conversation so that I could edit and air it on the station. Yeah, I discovered that I do NOT have a voice for radio and I might have been a bit nervous because it seemed like “uh-huh” and “yeah” were all the words I knew. So, nope, you don’t get to hear my interview with Babylon Shakes. But I will tell you that even though they rubbed it in that I haven’t been able to go to M3 yet, we had a very nice conversation about the music, about their plans and the fans. I’ve been playing Velveteen Libertine over and over then the guys sent me a copy of their next single to put on the station and it has been added to my new favorites. Sunset Striptease- you’ll hear it playing often on The Manamal Streaming Radio!!! The sound of Chris’ voice does remind me of Faster Pussycat back in the day- that Hollywood rasp that made me fall in love with songs like “No Room for Emotion” and “Cathouse”. But he also has his own sound that blends magnificently with the music. Each song I’ve heard feels like a full story- you hear a few notes, you get sucked in to the lyrics, you are rewarded with guitar riffs and in the end, you know it’s done but you still want more. There’s a sense of wildness just barely restrained in the music and it rocks me down to my soul. I have no problem classifying Babylon Shakes as a vintage sleaze band right up there with the bands from my youth. I’m thrilled that one of the “new generation” bands is actually a group of guys with experience, with age, who know the value of “our” kind of music. So, while Babylon Shakes is a new band on the metal scene they’re not inexperienced kids just getting started. They know how to reach people, they are dedicated to putting out only their best efforts and I can tell you now that they are going to have a huge following. Be sure to grab their 5 song EP out next month! Check out their video below, and then go like them on Facebook to find out where they will be performing and keep up to date on releases, videos and merchandise!! ![]()
Denman was formed in 2016 by brothers Ben and Dakota Denman. These boys are transplants in Nashville from upstate NY with one goal in mind, to take the Nashville music scene to new heights. Robbie Crede (bass) & Ted Karole (drums) round out the band. Nate Perry from Nate Perry Music and his band, Transform the Tragedy said, “they have a lot of pull right now…(in Nashville)” and they are an “up and coming band that sounds straight out of the 80’s” and boy was he right!
These bad boys are heavily influenced by Motley Crue, Van Halen and Metallica which is evident in their songs. In their song, “Miles Away from Home”, it features Mark Slaughter and it will surely make you feel like teasing your hair or rock a mullet and dress in spandex and leather! Greg Troyan from the band Lipstick was quoted as saying, “if you’re craving a 80’s sounding band, Denman is your best bet”. This album has 5 songs and every one of them will rock your ass off. Definitely check them out for something new yet familiar!! ![]() This press release found its way into our inbox and we're excited to share the information with y'all! It's been a tumultuous journey for these rockers, and they're releasing a brand new album on March 16th! We're gonna have more for you on this band and the upcoming release. I have an interview with frontman Ron Young coming up early next week! Press/ Radio/ Media in North America: Contact: Dustin Hardman / Press Promotions Nobody quite knew what to think of these long haired, tattooed bikers singing such soulful, yet ballsy, rock music when they arrived on the scene in Los Angeles in 1987. They stood out amongst the "Hair Bands" that populated the music scene at the time.....a distinction the band wore as a badge of honor. Much hype surrounded the band as they were managed by music legend Jimmy Iovine, guided by legendary A&R man John Kalodner and produced by Bob Rock. It seemed like a formula for success, yet the band met an unfortunate set of circumstances that left many scratching their heads shortly after the release of their self-titled debut album. Many were to speculate why the band never achieved the level of success that their legendary team of backers took as inevitable. Many were to speculate that it was due to the dichotomy between the band's gruff appearance and their sound. The truth was that the band fell prey to an unfortunate set of circumstances that occurred in the limited window that bands get to produce sales in, or get exiled in the music business. Three weeks into the bands initial release, Geffen Records was sold, their label Manager left the company, accountants took over, and their records where lost in transit to their new distributors. As sales dropped off due to the lack of product availability, the accountants shut the project down. And so, another band dies....there's always more where they came from in the rough and tumble world that is the music business. Little Caesar first appeared on Metal Blade’s “Street Survivors” compilation. The band then released a four song EP titled “Name Your Poison” (produced by Joe Hardy of ZZ Top fame), which subsequently led to a deal with Geffen Records. Little Caesar’s eponymous 1990 Geffen debut was produced by the infamous Bob Rock (producer of Metallica’s self-titled 1991 multi-platinum release, Motley Crue’s “Dr. Feelgood”, and The Cult’s “Sonic Temple” among others). The album was a no-nonsense collection of hard rock in the vein of ’70s giants like Bad Company and Humble Pie, and was also brimming with classic R&B influences, garnering widespread acceptance and positive reviews from the rock media. It also featured two Motown covers, including a ballsy rendition of the classic Aretha Franklin track, “Chain of Fools,” which hit the Billboard Top 100 chart and received strong airplay nationwide on both rock radio and MTV. The group toured extensively opening for such legendary acts as Jane’s Addiction, KISS, Social Distortion, Iggy Pop, Billy Idol, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. They also headlined their own club tours, and appeared on TV’s popular “Arsenio Hall Show”, “The Rick Dee’s Show”, and MTV’s “Sex in the 90’s”. Vocalist Ron Young was also featured in the movie “Terminator 2” as a tough talking biker that gets into a fight with the film’s star, Arnold Schwarzenegger. 1992 would bring the second full-length album, “Influence”, which would have Earl Slick (of John Lennon, David Bowie, and Ian Hunter fame) replacing Apache on guitar. The “Influence” album was produced by the highly respected Howard Benson (who has recently produced releases for platinum artists like Daughtry, Papa Roach, and P.O.D. among others). The band completed its first tour of Europe after the release of the album and drew rave reviews and sold out crowds across multiple countries including a sold out headlining performance at the famous Marquee club in London. As the band slowly recovered from the shock and lessons learned in the nasty world of the music business, they always remained close, as they are a family way before they are a band. They started to do local shows and remember why they loved music and each other. Since the reformation, the band has played high profile shows at venues as House of Blues, California Speedway for NASCAR, and the Rock The Bayou Festival in Houston TX. In 2010, Little Caesar moved forward with a vengeance on a worldwide level with a release titled "Redemption" as well as touring in the US, Europe and the UK and in 2012, Little Caesar released "American Dream". Produced by Bruce Witkin, a powerful, no nonsense, guitar driven group of songs that takes the band to that same warm R&B driven Rock and Roll Universe they call home. They performed at the Hard Rock Hell festival in Wales in Dec 2012. They returned once again to Europe in 2013 appearing at The Download Festival appearing alongside such acts as Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Rival Sons, and Queens of the Stone Age. In 2016. Bass player Pharoah Barrett (The Four Horsemen) joined founding members Ron Young (Vocals), Tom Morris (Drums) and Loren Molinare (Guitar) and they released a double live CD titled “Brutally Honest” which authentically captured the band’s live energy. In 2017 the band has continued touring the US, UK and Europe and entered the studio to work with Bruce Witkin again for their upcoming release on Golden Robot Records. Joining the band on Guitar is Mark Tremalgia (Bang Tango, Chambers Brothers, Brothers Johnson) whose band “Disreputable Few” has been backing great artists Billy Gibbons, Slash and Butch Trucks. The band has upcoming tours in the UK and Europe to support their 5th studio album and 7th release. ![]()
The 4-song EP release from Trixy Tang is set to release on March 16. These rockers hail from Grand Rapids, Michigan and have honed their talents as a cover band, opened for Warrant in Detroit, and now they have big plans for their arrival on the music scene across the country.
Recently frontman Klay Fennema was interviewed by Eric Mitts of Revue. In relation to their music Fennema says, “The best way I can describe our musical style is simply having a good time… There is so much to stress about nowadays. We like writing music about partying, letting loose on the weekend after a long week of work, letting your hair down and raising your glass. Good times is what we’re all about.” Now doesn't that sound like the type of music we love? Let's see what these guys have to offer, and make their EP, "Sunday Cruisin'" one of the most in demand new releases this year!!! ![]()
This new rock band from Gothenburg, Sweden was formed in June of 2016. Band members, Daniel Almqvist (lead vocals), Johan Bergman (guitar and vocals), Timmy Kan (bass and vocals) & Christoffer Almqvist (drums and vocals are heavily influenced by several classic rock/metal bands such as Cinderella, Iron Maiden, Whitesnake & Def Leppard.
Their debut album, “Breaking Free” came out in 2017 and feature songs such as, “As Above, So Below”, “Breaking Free” & “Aerodynamic”. The song “Breaking Free” is a powerful mix of Scandi (Scandinavian) glam and sleaze rock with a heaping dose of attitude. Looking forward to seeing more from these bad boys in the future. ![]()

Once in awhile, you come across something unexpected and it turns out to be something amazing and boy, did this band Tempt deliver!
The line-up of 4 features, Zach Allen on lead vocals, Harrison Marcello on guitar, Nicholas Burrows on drums & Chris Gooden on bass. In June of 2016, they released their debut album, “Runaway” which was chocked FULL of melodic rock with some added grit which gave them a unique sound. There is not one song on this album that I didn’t like!! Apart from their own material, Tempt covers some awesome classic 80’s rock such as Def Leppard’s “Women” & “Bringin’ on the Heartbreak” along with some contemporary music covers like Taylor Swift’s “I Did Something Bad” and The Weekend’s “Starboy” which they threw their own rock spin on and made it totally their own. Allen says, “We’re taking rock and roll and electric guitars and bringing them to a generation who have never heard them before by rocking out their favorite artists”. Not an easy task, yet they have done it and they did it well! Tempt plans to keep tracks coming on streaming services as well as posting live, performance videos. If you haven’t heard them yet, what are you waiting for!! This band is a breath of fresh air and I expect bigger and better things for them in the future!!! *Photos by: Steven ES ![]() Frontman for Hardline/Axel Rudi Pell/Crush 40, Johnny Gioeli will be releasing his first solo album on July 13, 2018. In the summer of 2016, a family very near and dear to Johnny had tragedy strike when their son, Joe became paralyzed. Johnny wanted to “give back” so he started a Pledge Music account to help the family financially. He had felt tremendously blessed with his success and decided to use Pledge Music as his platform. It is designed to bring fans and their favorite musicians closer together. Some of the items people could receive from pledging to Gioeli’s cause are; autographed cds, t-shirts, posters and even a solo acoustic house concert!! Fans of Hardline will be happy to hear that on this album, the song “Colorblind” will be released. This song was never released and was written after the L.A. riots. So, if you love Hardline, Axel Rudi Pell or Crush 40, you won’t want to miss this incredible solo album. Mark it on your calendars folks! ![]()
As a long time, huge fan, I mean one of those embarrassing fangirl kind of fans, of L.A. Guns nothing makes me happier than brand new music, reunion tour and the fact that BOTH Phil Lewis and Tracii Guns are back in the band together! The last time these two were on an album together was wayyyyy the hell back in 2002 on Waking the Dead. Considering that the band bears his name it's only right that any incarnation of L.A. Guns should have Tracii Guns.
For the past several years, though, Tracii Guns has been pursuing other projects like BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION while Phil Lewis forged ahead with various band members under the L.A. Guns name. Even though they had an amazing frontman, the diluted version of L.A. Guns without Tracii just wasn't the same. Fans were thrilled when Lewis and Guns got back together and released The Missing Peace album in the fall of 2017. This critically acclaimed album brought back the thrilling partnership and collaboration that fans had missed and launched the Reunion Tour. Visit the official L.A. Guns website to find out where the tour will take them in 2018, and plan your concert trip!!! |
