Anyone who has listened to The Manamal Streaming Radio over the past 3 months is probably aware that we've had a real problem with our station host dropping the feed at random times. There have been times we were down for an hour and times that we were down for a day or more with no notification or communication from Radionomy (host).
Now, we weren't really in a position to complain because we were getting the opportunity to gain listeners and share our love of music with everyone for FREE! The free part was wonderful, the inexplicable down time not so much. There were a few other issues with the host that made some of the things we want to do with the station impossible or much more difficult than they should be.
One example of this would be the two pre-recorded shows that we air, Hair Metal Mansion with Andrew the Axeman and Hard, Heavy & Hair with Pariah Burke arrived in our station email in a nice audio file that I should have been able to upload to the host and schedule immediately. Instead, Radionomy insisted that no file uploaded could be longer than 15 minutes. This meant that I spent about 2 hours each week for each show to get the file cut, uploaded, and scheduled.
Basically, there were some annoyances involved in using Radionomy as our host, and then there were some major complaints. The down time was the straw that broke the camel's back as far as we were concerned. We are aware that you get what you pay for so this week we are changing to a paid hosting service and looking forward to a much easier process.
While we get all the music moved over and our programming set up this week there will be quite a bit of downtime, but stick with us and we'll be back to rocking ya 24/7 as soon as humanly possible.
In the meantime if you feel like helping us out as we absorb this new expense we are accepting donations. As this station is a labor of love we are receiving no income from it (although there are opportunities we are looking into for the coming months) and all expenses for the station come directly out of our pockets, any help is appreciated!
This band was named Cold Sweat after the Thin Lizzy song of the same name. This band had some great tunes in this genre, but unfortunately, they only had one album entitled “Break Out”.
You might know lead guitarist, Marc Ferrari, who also played in the band Keel. His guitar playing on this album was amazing. Oni Logan, lead singer of Cold Sweat went on to play in George Lynch’s band, Lynch Mob.
There was some bad blood between Cold Sweat & Lynch Mob when Logan on the day Cold Sweat was going to sign with MCA.
The album, “Break Out” is a classic 80’s rock album from start to finish and it’s a shame that it’s a forgotten album because it really does rock hard. Check them out!

Helstar is an American, heavy metal band from Houston, Texas formed in 1982. Through the years, this band has had a hard time keeping members, especially guitarists and drummers.
In the beginning, they had a basic, heavy metal vibe but as they progressed, they began being referred as a “power metal”. Plenty of awesome guitar riffs filled their songs. Unfortunately, after their conceptual album, “Nosferatu” in 1989 (which was inspired by the Dracula novel), they lost their focus and split up not long after.
In 2001, after being apart for 6 years attempted a reunion but sadly they never came close to having the sound they had when the first started out.
This was an exceptional, produced band that was fronted by the former Accept singer, David Reece. Their sound was highly melodic blended with AOR, as you will hear in the links provided below.
They formed in 1991, but unfortunately, they came out just as grunge was coming around and taking over. They slipped under the radar, which was a shame. Their debut album, “On Target” was produced by Max Norman, who has produced for other bands such as, Savatage, Lizzy Borden & Lynch Mob. This album also featured songs co-written with Jon Bon Jovi & Aldo Nova.
Band members for the original line-up were, David Reece (vocals), Curt Mitchell (guitar), John Kirk (guitar), Ian Mayo (bassist) and Jackie Ramos (drums).
Under a new line-up, the band put a new album out in 2010 called “Cadence” followed by another album in 2012 called “Metaphor”. Critics views varied but the ones I have read in depth weren’t the greatest. I, for one, can’t figure it out. I’ve listened to both of the newest albums and I think they are great! Click the links below and have a listen for yourself! I think if they would have gotten together a couple years prior, they would have really done well!
Song co-written by Jon Bon Jovi:
One of my Favorites!
Bradley James Nowell
February 22, 1968 – May 25, 1996)
Bradley James Nowell was the founder and the lead singer for the band Sublime. At a young age, Nowell developed a passion for music after a trip with his father, to the Virgin Islands. There, he was introduced to reggae and dancehall music. Later on, he found love for rock after he had learned to play guitar. Nowell played in a host of bands before forming the band that made him famous. Throughout the years with the band, he struggled with a bad heroin addiction.
While on tour in 1990, he met Troy Dendekkar. In 1995, Troy gave birth to Nowell’s son, Jakob James. After his son was born, Bradley got sober but he relapsed and on the morning of May 25, 1996, just one week after he married Dendekkar, in Las Vegas, he was found dead in his hotel room. The band’s drummer, Bud Gaugh, found Nowell on the floor, next to the bed. Nowell’s dalmation, “Lou Dog” was curled up on the bed whimpering. Gaugh noticed a yellow film around his mouth, then he had realized it was a heroin overdose. Nowell was only 36 yrs old.
Audrey Hamilton is one of the most famous groupies to have never written a memoir, but she definitely should have. She was most known for her relationship to Robert Plant and being a fixture around Led Zeppelin on a regular basis.
She was constantly being photographed getting on and off tour buses with her arms hanging around the necks of some of the biggest rock stars of all time.
After her relationship ended with Plant in 1977, she then moved onto Ace Frehley from KISS. As a result of that relationship, she and Frehley had a daughter, Lindsey.

Christopher John Boyle, aka Chris Cornell, most known for being the frontman for Soundgarden and Audioslave, was an American musician, singer and songwriter. He was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. He was one of 6 children, 2 older brothers and 3 younger sisters.
Around the age of 12, Cornell had access to a host of drugs such as marijuana, acid, mushrooms and prescription drugs along with copious amounts of alcohol. He tried to get away from the drinking and the drugs, but relapsed. On top of his addictions, he had severe depression issues, but at the age of 16, Chris found music. He was quoted as saying that his mother saved his life when she bought him a snare drum, which inevitably lead him to his path to stardom. As a child, he had taken piano and guitar lessons as well.
Chris went on to have musical success in bands as well as a solo artist. He has been credited as writing music for movies and had even performed a 3 song set for former Commander in Chief, Barack Obama’s Inaugural Ball.
On May 18, 2017, Cornell was found laying on the bathroom floor of his hotel, by his bodyguard, with an exercise band around his neck and blood coming out of his mouth. EMS could not revive him and pronounced dead.
Cornell’s widow has stated she felt the medical examiner “botched” the investigation into the death of her husband. To this day, she said she doesn’t think that he committed suicide “intentionally”. She said earlier in the evening, he had phoned her and told her he had taken “1 or 2” more of his prescribed Ativan. She blames the medicine.
At the time of death, Chris Cornell was 52 years old.
Ronnie James Dio
(July 10, 1942-May 16, 2010)
Ronnie James Dio, born Ronald James Padavona was born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He is most recognized as the frontman for Dio. Other bands he had fronted or founded were Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Elf & Heaven and Hell. He is also credited with popularizing the “metal horns” that we recognize as a sign for heavy metal and rock music.
His career spanned over 50 years. He has won many distinctions and awards through the years such as “Metal Guru Award, presented by Classic Rock Magazine and “Best Metal Singer at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards. In his honor, there has been a monument erected of him in Kavarna, Bulgaria. On January 18, 2017, he was inducted into the Hall of Heavy Metal History.
In 2009, Dio was diagnosed with stomach cancer. At this time, he was on the road, working with Heaven and Hell. On May 4, 2010, the band cancelled all of the summer shows due to his health issues. His last performance was with the band on August 29, 2009. On May 16, 2010, Dio passed from metastasized stomach cancer. He was 68 years old.
(January 1, 1958-May 10, 2005)
Born David Wayne Carnell, David was an American singer for a few different bands, but most noted for his work in the metal band Metal Church. Other bands he was affiliated with were Reverend, which he started shortly after leaving MC, then got together with ex-Cradle of Filth’s guitarist, Stuart Antsis in Bastardsun.
Before joining Metal Church, Wayne was a field medic in the U.S. Army.
Early on in the year of 2005, Wayne was involved in a head on collision. He was released from the hospital and returned home. On May 10, 2005, David passed away from complications related to that accident. He was 47 yrs old.
We've decided to add some new programming to the station. From now on Friday nights at 8 eastern we will be featuring the New Generation Block.
So what exactly do we consider new generation? To put it simply there was a certain sound with 80s metal and hair band music that we love. To discover that so many of the bands that have come out in this millennium have kept that sound and more new bands are coming up every day has been a pleasant surprise. So we want to help our listeners find cool newer music and help the bands find new listeners.
We will also be playing new releases by older bands during this segment, before we put them into regular rotation so bands like Every Mother's Nightmare, Dokken and Bulletboys who are still going strong will be featured as well as we continue this new programming and obtain their new releases!
As we all know bands come and go- some of the bands we will play during the New Generation block may have disbanded or morphed into another few bands by now. Others are brand new and we can't wait to see them grow. Many of the new generation bands are not from the U.S. although good ol' America has it's share; Switzerland, Sweden , Latvia and many other countries abroad have bred a generation of musicians who believe in leather, big hair and pretty guys. Heavy on the sex, drugs, and Rock'n Roll with a whole lot of alcohol thrown in for good measure. That is something that we LOVE! We're also thrilled to see that our station is being played in numerous countries besides the U.S. !
For our first New Generation block, we'll be playing
We're very excitred to bring y'all this new weekly installment of New Generation metal music and look forward to getting to know more of these bands!
In rock n’ roll, you don’t often see marriages lasting for 36 years, but Suzette & Dee Snider have stood the test of time. Not only have they been married that long, they have 4 children as well. (Jesse, Shane, Cody & Cheyenne).
Outside of her marriage, Snider is known for being the executive producer on the movie “Fool’s Day” (which her sons Cody & Shane co-wrote), “Behind the Scenes” and “The Howard Stern Show”. She is also a noted fashion and costume designer.
Dee says of his wife, “never have I ever met a woman with so much strength and courage…”. In August of 2003, Suzette’s brother Vincent was shot in the face by businessman, Christian Tarrentino after attempting to extort money from him. When it came to trial, Suzette went to all of court dates and spoke on behalf of her brother when it came time for the jury to deliberate.
Suzette is now a doting grandmother of 4 and enjoying her life to the fullest.
Shannon Tweed-Simmons is a Canadian actress and model. She is well known for mainstream erotica and fits into the genre of ‘erotic thrillers’. Tweed has been in a few popular shows such as “Falcon Crest”, HBO’s “1st & Ten” and “Days of Our Lives”. She has also been the centerfold for Playboy (1981) and Playboy’s Playmate of the year (1982) & was also romantically linked with Hugh Hefner.
She also was the narrator for the reality show, “Ex-Wives of Rock”. For those of you who may NOT know of her from her acting/modeling, she is the wife of KISS co-lead singer & bassist, Gene Simmons.
Shannon has 2 children with Gene, Nick & Sophie. In 2006, the Simmons brood premiered in their very own reality tv show, on A&E, “Gene Simmons Family Jewels”, which took a look at the life of the family which had some extremely funny moments and bad moments as well. The show ran for 7 seasons. The most watched episode was when Simmons proposed to Tweed after she had given him an ultimatum to make an honest woman out of her after their almost 3 decade courtship (at that time).
Now, you can find Tweed-Simmons living the lush life in Beverly Hills, California in a huge, beautiful mansion juggling family and all of her side jobs like a boss. You’ve got to give this woman mad props...it can’t be easy being married to Gene Simmons!!
Snakebite started up in 2012 under the name named Sexx Action, however, they were disappointed by the divergence occurring throughout the band.
After regrouping, their first try at putting something together under the new name Snakebite proved to be very difficult due to issues with an ex bandmate. Not letting that discourage them, the 3 founding members, Wagner, Fischer and LaCroix forged ahead and kept the ball rolling without worry.
In early 2013, they released a demo via Maniac Attack Records in limited numbers which was quickly sold out. Fast forward to 2014 when the 3 original members started working on their first album, “Princess of Pain”. Each of them contributed to the song writing which offered a wide variety of songs and sounds. This album was recorded and mixed by Lacuna Coil’s Dennis Koehne and was released in 2015.
In 2016, they added new member Chris Van Kough (guitar). Since then, they have been touring abroad and all over Germany.
On May 4, 2018, their upcoming album, “Rise of the Snake” will be released as a cd and as a vinyl album via Maniac Attack Records. The lineup of : Dominik Wagner (vocals/guitar), Julian Fischer (drums), Alex LaCroix (bass), andChris Van Kough (guitar) seems to be the winning pairing. These guys have a great sound and they rock hard!
This powerhouse line-up has “greatest summer concert series” written ALL over it!

These bands have been around for awhile now and one can only imagine how badass this tour will be! Buckcherry singer, Josh Todd says, “you’re gonna get your money’s worth on this one…”. Sonny Sandoval, singer for P.O.D. adds, “This is the good vibes rock and roll tour of the summer. This band released their debut album, “Social Intercourse” in 1988, alongside Guns n’ Roses, L.A. Guns and Faster Pussycat where they kinda got lost in the shuffle. Releasing when the big names were releasing as well did not do them any favors They had a great sound partly due to the raunchy, toughness of their lead singer, Sally Cato. She was as strong of a presence as any of the guys on the scene at that time. She had grit and mega power in her voice.
Smashed Gladys had a major deal with Electra Records and was in the video for Run DMC’s cover of Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way”. On one of their songs, they had Ozzy Osbourne on background vocals. Unfortunately, this band never broke into the mainstream music. There isn’t a whole lot of information on the male members of the band, but nowadays, you can find Cato writing science fiction novels and dark-comedy screenplays.
Jocke Berg (vocals), Vic Zino (guitar), Martin Sandvik (bass) and Adde Andreasson (drums) make up this foursome from Gothenburg, Sweden. Their sound has been coined as thrash metal and sleaze rock. Drummer Andreasson uses the term “street metal” to describe them. They formed in 1997 and still perform today. They have 11 albums under their belt, one just being released in 2018 called “You Can’t Kill Rock n’ Roll”. These bad boys have an impressive 18 singles and have won several Grammys in Sweden. They have one compilation album with all of their hits.
Their influence came from the 80’s, L.A. rock scene which included bands such as L.A. Guns and Faster Pussycat. They also got into Oasis as heard on their song “Someone Special.” Drummer Addes said they wanted to be a lot like AC/DC because they were the “ultimate party band” because they ran on pure energy. Years later, they were invited to open for AC/DC in Turin, Italy to which they were very honored. They have toured all over Europe, Japan and the US.
Wendy Orlean Williams, better known as Wendy O. Williams was a pioneer for women in music. She is best known as playing in the punk band, The Plasmatics, where she was dubbed “The queen of shock rock”. She was famous for wearing very scantily clad outfits & a mohawk, along with blowing various items up on stage and chain sawing guitars.
Williams started out doing live sex shows in 1976 and was in an adult film called, “Candy Goes to Hollywood.” Soon after the film, she was contacted by manager Rob Swenson who brought her aboard The Plasmatics train. Shortly after she joined the band, they became very well known in the NYC underground music scene.
After she had 3 albums under her belt with the band, she decided to try a solo career. In doing so, she released 3 albums between 1984 & 1988. Before she retired from the music industry, she also appeared in the 1986 film, “Reform School Girls”.
In 1991, she was quoted as saying she was “pretty fed up with dealing with people”. She moved to Connecticut with her companion, Rod Swenson and became deeply involved with animal rehabilitation, a passion that also turned her into a strict vegetarian which then led to her become a ‘natural food’ activist.
In 1993, Wendy O. Williams attempted suicide by hammering a knife into her chest which stuck in her sternum. She survived. Then, in 1997, she attempted suicide again by overdosing on ephedrine to which she also survived. On April 6, 1998, she succeeded at suicide by a self inflicted gunshot wound. She was only 48 years old.
It's been 20 years today since the music world lost one of the boldest women to hit the stage.
(February 7, 1946-April 5, 2007)
Mark Leslie Norton a.k.a Mark St. John, was a guitarist known for a brief stint with the band KISS in 1984 who then went on to form his own band, White Tiger.
In 2006, St. John had been arrested and put in jail for 2 weeks for possession of drug paraphernalia & another charge for trying to destroy evidence. He was heavily beaten in jail by inmates. Once released from jail, friends and family stated he was never the same after that experience. He frequently suffered from headaches and body aches.
St. John then fell into drug addiction pretty heavily. On April 5, 2007, Mark suffered a brain hemorrhage brought on by an overdose of methamphetamines. He was 51.
April 5 is a day that marks the death of 3 famous musicians. One of them a legend in rock music and the other two part of the movement known as Grunge that started in Seattle and took over the world in the early 90s. Today we remember Cozy Powell, Layne Staley and Kurt Cobain.
Kurt Cobain, frontman for Nirvana was found dead at his home in Seattle on April 8, 1994. Forensics determined his death had occurred on April 5. The cause of the 27 year old artist's death was declared suicide. Cobain was found with a gunshot to the head and a shotgun across his body, the presence of a nearby suicide note seemed to solidify the circumstances.
Over the years there has been speculation that Cobain was murdered, mostly perpetuated by his widow Courtney Love. Kurt Cobain left behind a wife, a daughter, a successful band and millions of fans.
Colin Trevor “Cozy” Powell was born in Cirencester, Gloucestershire and he was adopted right after birth. At the age of 12, he started playing the drums. Through the years, he was accredited for playing on at least 66 albums. Some of the bands he played for are Rainbow, MSG, Whitesnake, and Black Sabbath. Not only was he a musician, he also wrote and produced as well.
On April 5, 1998, Powell was traveling to the home of the married woman he was seeing after she had phoned him telling him she was having problems with her husband. He was traveling at a high rate of speed, 104 mph for the 35 mile trek. The woman phoned him again while he was on his way and asked “Where are you?” to which he had responded that he was on his way. The next thing she heard was him saying “oh shit” followed by a loud bang. Powell had crashed and was ejected through the windshield and was pronounced dead at the scene. His blood alcohol level was above the limit and he hadn’t been wearing his seatbelt. Powell was 51 years old at the time of his passing.
Layne Rutherford Staley was the lead singer for the band Alice in Chains founded in 1987 with the bands guitarist, Jerry Cantrell. Staley learned to play drums at the age of 12 and had played with a few glam bands in his early teens. In 1997, Cantrell saw Staley perform with Staley’s then band, “Alice N’ Chains” which later became “Alice IN Chains”. Cantrell was impressed with his vocals. He stated that he knew once he heard him sing, that he was the one he wanted to be in a band with. He sounded like no one else. He had the versatility of power projecting and sounding vulnerable at the same time and that is a rarity.
On April 19, 2002, Staley’s accountants contacted his manager, Susan Silvers, alerting her that there had been no bank activity in 2 weeks. Silvers then contacted Staley’s mother who then contacted the police. His mother, her ex husband and police went to Staley’s home where he was found dead. It was reported that Staley, with his 6 foot stature, weighed only 86 pounds. The autopsy concluded that he had been dead since April 5. Included in the autopsy, they revealed that he had passed from a “speedball” which is the combination of heroin and cocaine. He was only 35 yrs old.
Interesting that the deaths of both grunge band members occurred on the same date in separate years and neither Cobain nor Staley were found immediately.
A few days ago I had the pleasure of interviewing a great rock band out of Vantaa, Finland, Shiraz Lane. These guys were a lot of fun and despite a little hard time understanding them, the interview was great. I spoke to lead singer, Hennes Kett and guitarist, Jani Laine.
Me: This is Misti with the Manamal Streaming Radio and I’m talking to Finland’s very own heavy metal band Shiraz Lane, thanks for joining me guys!
SL: Thank you for having us.
Me: So, I’m going to start off with the cliche question I’m sure you get asked ALL the time. How did you all meet?
SL: (Jani) Well, Ana and I have been best friends from childhood. We met Kennes in 2011 & started the band up in 2011. We met Joel a year later then in 2014 we met Miki via the internet.
Me: We are seeing a lot of rock bands coming out of Finland. What makes you stand apart from all the rest?
SL: Our chemistry.
Me: Not every band has chemistry, but it is evident that you guys really do.
SL: You’re right, that’s what sets us apart.
Me: Now, do you all participate in the songwriting?
SL: It’s very much a group effort. Someone will come up with and idea, say a riff or beat then we just come up with ideas for our individual parts and roll with it.
Me: I think it’s great that you all are involved.
SL: Makes you a better band we think.
Me: So, are most of your songs from personal experience?
SL: Yes, ALL of them.
Me: I know some bands write from experiences their family and/or friends go through too. Are some of the songs written for others, or just the band’s personal experiences?
SL: We have had enough crazy experiences individually to keep our band going forever.
Me: Do you guys have anything new in the works?
SL: We have several ideas being tossed around right now. We’d love to do something like MTV Unplugged, when MTV was still cool.
Me: I hear that! What type of music do you listen too?
SL: Mixed genres. Heavy metal all the way to pop. I think you need to be open minded to ALL types of music to be great.
Me: What made you want to stick with the vintage sound reminiscent of 80’s metal?
SL: We didn’t strive to have a specific sound, but that is just what it ended up being. We love that music too. It’s nice to be compared to some of the great 80’s rockstars.
Me: How does the music scene in Finland differ from the US?
SL: We really can’t answer that. We have never been there. We were in Canada for 5 days a couple years ago, but just haven’t made our way to the US.
Me: What is your personal favorite song you’ve done?
SL: (Hennes) Reincarnation but then sometimes it’s Harder to Breathe.
SL: (Jani) Yeah, both of those songs. I go back and forth. But, ALL of our songs are great!! (*snickers*)
Me: What is the craziest thing that has ever happened to you as a band?
SL: Honestly, it had to be going on tour for the first time. We didn’t know what to expect because up until that point, it was local gigging. That was the most amazing feeling in the world hearing fans screaming our name. Very surreal.
Me: I know your time is valuable guys, so I guess my last question to you is, if you could let you fans know ANYTHING about the band, what would it be?
SL: What you see is what you get. We love our fans, and wouldn’t be here without them. We love meeting our fans and we just want them to know that.
Me: Great ending to a great interview. Thanks so much guys for taking the time out of your busy schedule to talk with us here at the Manamal Streaming Radio. Keep up the good work! Looking forward to hear more from you guys soon.
SL: oh, one more thing. American girls voices are hot, whoa!
Me: If you are referring to mine, I’m so beyond “girl”...I’ll be 50 this year. Lol
SL: There is no way! Well, you sound good!
Me: Thank you. Take care guys.
SL: Thank you too! Bye from Finland!
Whether you love her or hate her, she is one of the most notorious rock groupies in history. A noted actress best known for her role as CJ Parker, in the hit tv series, ‘Baywatch’. This blonde haired vixen has been linked to MANY rockers through the years. Most famously for her marriage to Motley Crue drummer, Tommy Lee to which she shared 2 children with, Brandon & Dylan.
Other rockers she has been linked to include Bret Michaels, Mark McGrath, Fred Durst & Kid Rock. (there are A LOT more, but I’m not down to write a novel. ;) ). She has been married 4 times. Her current relationship is outside the music realm. She is dating a French, professional football player, Adil Rami.
Pam has left her outlandish, rock star lifestyle. She now is an animal rights activist and she advocates better treatment for all. Over the years Pamela Anderson has written and co-written several fiction and non-fiction books, not what you'd expect if all you know of her is her public persona!
Judas Priest frontman, Rob Halford says there are no plans for them to retire after guitarist Glenn Tipton said he was coming off of the road due to his many years battle with Parkinson’s disease. “We know what Glenn has been up against, and he has showed absolute proof that there is no such thing as retirement in the Priest plan” Halford told Maximum Ink.
Despite losing Tipton from the road, things will still progress forward. Halford stated that they feel like there is always another song to sing or another show to play. The band has a new album, ‘Firepower’ that was released on March 9, and the tour promoting it. They still get offers from all over the world to play international venues. Why ruin a good thing? As long as they have the desire and the want to keep Priest fans happy, I say rock on!! JP is STILL badass and relevant!!
As we reported last week both Michael Grant and L.A. Guns had announced that Grant was out of the band. Sure, there was a bit of this-n-that about how that actually happened. But the end result was the same and the question on everyone's mind was whether L.A. Guns would replace Grant or continue on with only one guitarist (Tracii Guns).
The answer was provided via Tracii Guns' Instagram, where he stated:
"I would personally like to welcome @johnnymonaco to @laguns. He’s a very sophisticated musician, a great friend and I can’t wait to share the stage with him."
We're all interested in seeing how this lineup works for the band. Johnny Monaco has spent many years in the spotlight as guitarist and singer for Enuff Znuff. So he's no babe in the woods when it comes to the world of music. The headlines in the metal world have been filled with the news of Grant's "firing" as well as speculation about how the band would handle the situation moving forward. Johnny Monaco has some big shoes to fill- Grant was definitely a talented guitarist, but I think his history over the years proves that he's definitely up to the job.
Welcome to L.A. Guns Johnny!
Sebastian Bach had the chance to connect with Steve Perry while attending Alice in Chains’lead guitarist Jerry Cantrell’s birthday party. Bach credits Perry for expanding his vocal range stating that when he gets ready to go on tour, he warms up singing Perry songs. He says, “Steve’s voice is so incredible to listen to and such an inspiration to all vocalist worldwide.”
The twosome had their picture taken at the party and Bach said that he doesn’t normally print out pictures but he was definitely printing this one. “It’s hard to put into words how much I love this picture.”
Bach has been praised for his own vocals through the years but it’s nice to see him pay his respects to a legend who essentially changed his life. Without Steve Perry, who knows what Bach’s outcome would have been? As a huge fan of both of these men, I for one am glad it happened the way it did!
